In the past recent years we have been noticing a change in trends. At the beginning, and on rare occasions did we see property which differed from the traditional architecture of the Coast, always more Andalusian.

Over the past year we have experienced an increase in clients looking to rent a property. Many of them, sometimes have found the property they want to purchase and want to ‘try it out’ for a few months before buying it.

I often read inaccurate and catastrophist information on the Spanish property market and particularly the Costa del Sol’s. These articles tend to be inaccurate because they fail to differentiate the fact that the market is not one whole but it is made up of segments or tiers that are mainly defined by location and desirability. We see in various media, articles on signs of property market recovery. We read with pleasure articles about recovery here in Spain, but we are also weary of saying the crisis is over. The crisis may not be over, but signs of recovery are definitely good news and it means we are on the way to better times. While the news may be good for some, for others it is still not enough. Where some only see the negative aspects of some of the consequences of the past local government policies, others see the recovery of this very special place which is Marbella.
