The first small town on the western outskirts of Marbella, San Pedro was originally a farming village first established as a sugar cane-working colony by the Marques del Duero in the middle of the nineteenth century.

The Spanish government announced this reduction at a press conference held last Friday 19th August to help boost the real estate sector and specifically to lower the stock of unsold newly constructed properties.

Rio Real, on the eastside of Marbella, provides some of the most scenic spots in the area. For one, it’s where the coastal road snakes through a particularly beautiful section of the Rio Real Golf Club in chicane-like fashion. With the lushness of intensely green fairways on either side of the road, attractive residential areas tucked against wooded hillsides with mountain ranges protruding behind and the sea several hundred metres away, this is classic Marbella.

El Paraiso is one of the more established residential areas on the Costa del Sol. Situated roughly midway between San Pedro and Estepona, a little to the west of Marbella, it is a tranquil area dominated by villas and townhouses ranged around the El Paraiso Golf Club.

Originating in the 1980s, Los Arqueros is an expansive private community located in the valleys at the base of the Sierra Blanca Mountains. Here, on the northwest side of Marbella, the land begins its upward slope towards the towering mountain ranges that lead to the beautiful country town of Ronda, some 35 kilometres inland.
