One of the most established areas in Marbella East is Marbesa, a peaceful seaside residential zone first developed in the 1960s. Its leafy streets and peaceful roads are largely devoid of passing traffic, serving a residential area of villas, townhouses and apartments that span the range from compact to large. Indeed, they come in different sizes, styles, orientations and layouts, but all boast that winning locational aspect – they’re close to the sea.
This means that in Marbesa you are never far away from sandy beaches, with their quaint seaside bars, fish restaurants and lovely views out across the Mediterranean. There are some beautiful park areas that almost touch natural dune landscapes, with tennis clubs, golf, shops, schools and the elegant Don Carlos Hotel and its trendy beach club, Nikki Beach, close by. The choice between rustic seafood restaurants, laid-back chiringuito beach bars and über-trendy beach clubs is entirely up to you when you opt for life by the beach in a seaside villa like this comfortable Marbesa property.
Set a little further southeast along the Mediterranean shore is Carib Playa, an area very similar in character to Marbesa yet if anything even more focused on a world of sandy beaches and open sea views. Not far from the protected dune and umbrella pine scenery of Dunas de Artola, and the pretty Cabopino marina that follows on its eastside, Carib Playa is home to pretty villas and apartments right by the water. In this peaceful and established residential area close to Elviria and only ten minutes’ drive from Marbella town and Puerto Banús, it is still possible to find not only charming villas like this rustic style home or apartments, but also private plots for development.
