News from Christie’s. World’s most expensive painting

The New York Times recently reported that Christie’s advised on the sale of a portrait by early 20th centuryAustrian artist Gustav Klimt.
The newspaper called the portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer painted in 1907 and purchased for US$135,000.-, the world’s most expensive painting.
The family sold this portrait to Ronald Lauder, the son of Estee Lauder of cosmetics renown.
