Changes in LPA leadership: Diana Morales appointed President
During the Board Meeting held on 9th June, a new Executive Committee was elected: Diana Morales, President; Maarten Kooyman and Alex Clover as Executive Vice Presidents; and Stuart Brown-Giraldi continues in his position as Operations Manager. The transition to the new Executive Committee will take effect the 1st of July 2004.
The goals for the first stage of the LPA's growth have now been achieved: its foundation, establishment and the joining of key new Members. With this significant success in mind, Robert Germaux of Fincas Germaux has decided to step down as President of LPA. However, Robert will continue to actively contribute towards the growth of the organization.
At present, the LPA through its associated agencies covers the Costa del Sol from Málaga to Cádiz and some inland areas as well. The LPA has among its members some of the oldest and most prestigious real estate agencies and they are all qualified property consultants with a minimum of five years of experience in the property industry.
The LPA was created with the aim to improve the quality of service for both buyers and sellers of real estate, and to promote and coordinate the collaboration among its members through a code of conduct to which all members must abide.
The LPA has a website www.lpaspain.com with a public property section where a selection of properties of each member agency is exhibited and a private section for internal use of its members, which contains all property listings of all members. One of the great advantages for buyers is that they have access to a greater number of offerings and for sellers a greater exposure of their property and the possibility of reaching a larger number of potential buyers.
Diana Morales has said:
"In a world of continuous technological changes, the LPA is the answer. Through a communal database, which contains all property listings of all member agencies, and by sharing our experience and joining our efforts, we are able to offer a more professional and effective service for our clients.
We have a tremendous amount of confidence in this project we have initiated, but we are also aware that its growth and consolidation will depend to a great extent on the work we each put into it.
Our short term objectives are: to further strengthen the infrastructure that facilitates our doing business with each other, while at the same time increasing the productivity of the staff within our respective agencies and reducing our overall operating costs. In the medium term our ultimate goal is that the LPA help Members increase their market share by heavily promoting our Members' combined level of professionalism to the key elements of our market: consultants and advisers linked to the real estate industry as well as, of course, buyers and sellers of property".
