Coastal News

The growing range of recreational and cultural events on offer in the Costa del Sol reflects the fact that it is becoming a region where people choose not just to spend their holidays but increasingly also to live. Now above all a lifestyle destination, its properties attract end-users rather than speculators.

With more permanent residents and especially children around, the focus is very much on entertainment, as the recent inauguration of the Magic Palace (www.magicpalace.info) showcases. Situated just off the motorway, in Torremolinos, the Magic Palace is a state-of-the-art 500-seat theatre that brings a touch of Las Vegas glamour to the Coast. Its founder is famous international illusionist Hans Kazan, who will be displaying his exciting Vegas brand of magic at this specially designed high-tech venue.

In addition to year-round entertainment of this kind, the region is also visited by top international events such as the Cirque Du Soleil (www.cirquedusoleil.com ), which enthralled crowds in Málaga in June and July this year. Added to a host of international performers, from orchestras and Latin American artists to pop and rock bands, they provide for a summer of recreational possibilities that also include Mijas Horseracing track, the Selwo Safari Park, polo in Sotogrande and, of course, the Picasso Museum in Málaga.
