New record sale for New York City, through Christie’s International Real Estate’s exclusive affiliate for the area

US$88 million was the price paid for the exclusive four-bedroom penthouse apartment, situated in the heart of Manhattan that enjoys impressive views over Central Park.
Brown Harris Stevens, an exclusive Affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate, represented both buyer and seller, successfully closing this unique deal at the full asking price.
The sale sets a new milestone in the Manhattan real estate market; previous one was US$53 million for a townhouse in October 2006.
The property was owned by Citigroup founder Sanford Weil, who is said to have more than doubled his investment with this sale, and the proud new owner is Ekatarina Rybolovleva, daughter of Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovley.
Our sincere congratulations to our Brown Harris Stevens colleagues.
