Out Now: Knight Frank’s 2021 Global Buyer Survey

The results of Knight Frank’s 2021 Global Buyer Survey are out now. The survey was conducted between 10 June and 22 July this year, and the findings represent the views of over 900 Knight Frank clients located across 49 countries and territories.

In light of recent events, the survey assesses global buyer sentiment to determine factors such as preferred locations, areas of pent-up demand and changes in lifestyle that have affected the housing market in Spain and globally over the past 12 months.
Findings include that:
- 33% are more likely to buy a second home as a result of Covid-19
- 39% are willing to pay more for a branded residence
- 27% say they would pay more for a greener home
Mark Harvey, Partner and Head of Knight Frank’s International Residential Department writes: “Competition remains strongest in rural, alpine and coastal markets – the South of France, the Alps, Tuscany, Marbella, Lake Geneva as well as Barbados. The most active segments are between €1m and €3m and at the top end (€10m+) we’ve seen some big-ticket sales as determined buyers acquire best-in-class, turnkey homes.”
Managing Partner of Diana Morales Properties | Knight Frank, Pia Arrieta, confirms that the “higher end of the market in Marbella has been extremely active this summer, and there is every indication this is set to continue.”
