The Pool Marbella: The home of Marbella 2.0

Marbella is thriving. Beyond the beaches and boutique hotels, a new narrative is quietly unfolding with a groundswell of business leaders now positioning the town as a meaningful destination for enterprise, innovation and global exchange. At the centre of this shift is The Pool Marbella, a private enterprise hub created for those building businesses and careers, from early-stage founders to seasoned executives.

“The truth is, the talent was already here,” says Christian Rasmusson (CEO). “But there wasn’t a space that matched the quality, focus and intention of the people living in Marbella. Business was happening in fragmented ways, over coffee or padel games. We wanted to build a space that reflected the calibre of the conversations.”
Before laying the foundations of The Pool, the team experimented with a series of Marbella Tech Meetups. The response exceeded expectations, not just in terms of turnout, but also in the seniority and gravitas of those attending. It confirmed what they suspected: Marbella didn’t need to attract entrepreneurs, it needed to connect them.

Since its launch, The Pool has become a magnet for international business leaders and entrepreneurs. Its members span nearly 40 nationalities and represent sectors from private equity and AI to architecture, sustainability and early-stage innovation. The physical space, which is a striking, design-led environment, supports curated interactions through private offices, communal lounges and event programming that fosters genuine dialogue.
In line with its ambition to support professionals at every stage, The Pool offers a range of membership options tailored to how people work today. FlexDesk access provides a calm, shared workspace during weekday hours, while FixedDesk members benefit from a dedicated desk, 24/7 access and mail services. For those looking to plug into the network without a fixed base, the Business Club offers entry to events and meeting rooms, while Private Offices accommodate teams from one to twenty with fully furnished, secure spaces. Day Passes offer a practical solution for travellers or those in need of a change of scene.

Every membership tier includes a carefully considered suite of amenities, from high-speed Wi-Fi and guest reception to phone booths, printing services and administrative assistance. Members also have access to meeting rooms, a café, kitchen and terrace, as well as standing desks, showers, complimentary coffee and filtered water. Above all, the space is defined by its international community and the sense of possibility that flows through it.
One of its most resonant initiatives to date is Marbella 2.0 — a concept that reframes the town as a place not only to live well but to build meaningfully. “We’re not trying to change Marbella’s essence,” Christian says. “We’re giving form to what was already happening under the surface.”

That visibility has proven powerful. Marbella 2.0 was featured in the Financial Times and has sparked collaboration with regional and international networks. The next phase? Connecting Marbella with other innovation hubs such as Berlin, Stockholm, Madrid and Málaga to create a fluid exchange of people, capital and ideas.
Innovation is the watchword at The Pool, where the CleanTech vertical was recently launched to bring together companies tackling urgent sustainability issues like water scarcity and energy transition.

“Sustainability and innovation are not separate tracks,” Christian explains. “The future demands both.”
There’s also a strong cultural dimension to The Pool’s work. With projects like Pool of Art, the organisation embraces Marbella’s creative element, blurring the lines between business, design and expression. It’s a philosophy that mirrors the hybrid, international lives of its members.

If Marbella once presented as a one-dimensional lifestyle enclave, The Pool is helping to author a different story, one of substance, connection and long-term ambition. “It’s not about changing Marbella,” Christian adds. “It’s about revealing what’s already here.”
From its early grassroots experiments to a fully realised business hub with pan-European reach, The Pool Marbella has become an exciting symbol of the region’s next chapter: cosmopolitan, intelligent and decidedly future-facing.
