Marbella stands out in The Wealth Report 2026

Knight Frank’s latest Wealth Report confirms that Marbella remains one of Europe’s leading prime residential markets.

The report places it among the region’s most established destinations, supported by steady demand, price growth and enduring international appeal.

Strong growth in a competitive European market

Marbella recorded 8.1% growth in prime prices in 2025, well above the European average of 3.3%. This places it among the stronger-performing markets across the continent.

This is not a short-term spike. It points to a market with solid foundations and consistent demand.

 Stability within the European market

The report highlights that Europe’s prime residential markets continue to attract international capital due to their perceived stability. Marbella benefits from this wider positioning, as part of a group of established destinations that continue to inspire confidence.

It is also identified among the markets that retain their appeal in a more measured environment, reinforcing its position for buyers focused on long-term value.

A more balanced outlook for 2026

The outlook for 2026 is more measured. Eurozone growth is expected to be around 1.3%, with demand in the prime sector remaining firm rather than frenetic.

This tends to favour established markets such as Marbella, where decisions are driven by long-term considerations rather than urgency.

At the same time, several trends are shaping demand:

  • Turnkey homes are achieving stronger premiums
  • Branded residences continue to expand
  • Greater emphasis is placed on efficiency and ease of ownership

The fundamentals behind demand

The report points to the factors supporting demand across Iberia: quality of life, international schools and improving infrastructure. These remain central to Marbella’s appeal.

For many buyers, the decision is not simply about property, but about choosing a place that works over the long term.

A market with a long-term perspective

Marbella also appeals to buyers seeking properties to hold and enjoy over time. It is not viewed purely as an investment, but as a location suited to longer-term ownership.

In the prime segment, that longer-term outlook is often as important as short-term performance.

Part of a strong Iberian market

Spain and Portugal recorded some of the strongest growth in Europe in 2025. Within that context, Marbella stands out as one of the region’s more dynamic markets.

The report notes that this performance has been supported by international demand at a regional level.

An established market with lasting appeal

Marbella is not an emerging destination. It is established, internationally recognised and consistently in demand.

The Wealth Report 2026 makes it clear: Marbella continues to stand out for its stability, its ability to attract international buyers and its position within a European market that remains highly relevant to globally mobile wealth.
